Dallas Seminary Mourns the Passing of John Weber

November 2, 2007

Today our hearts are heavy and saddened with the sudden unexpected home-going of John Weber. John was a faithful man, an esteemed alumnus, and a strong supporter of Dallas Theological Seminary. Just recently his words provided me with personal encouragement and strength, and I will sorely miss my friend. A few days ago DTS dispersed a video email highlighting John’s ministry as chaplain with the Cowboys. In that video his passion for people, because of the love he received from our Savior, was so transparent. DTS has been blessed to have such a faithful graduate, and our community has been blessed from his gentle and firm leadership. He constantly reminded us that life is more than sports, success, and fame. It is about knowing God through His son Jesus Christ, preparing to live for Him now and spend an eternity with Him. John now knows that in totality. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carole, their five children, and the extended family. We pray for peace and encouragement for them in the days to come.
