DTS Named "Best Place to Work"
March 21, 2006
In each year Dallas Theological Seminary has participated in a national workplace survey, the Seminary has been named one of the best Christian places to work in the United States.
DTS was awarded first place in the 2006 “Higher Education: 151 Through 300 Employees” category of the “The Best Christian Places to Work,” a study commissioned by Christianity Today and administered by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI). The Seminary did not participate in the survey in 2005, but took top honors in 2004 and tied for first place the year before that.
“We are humbled and honored that our employees consider the Seminary a great place to work,” said Dr. Mark Bailey, president of Dallas Seminary. “Our institution values quality work and personal relationships; so we take this as an indication that the bond our employees enjoy with one another is strong and healthy.”
In all, the survey polled more than 10,000 employees from 93 organizations in a variety of Christian industries and ministries. Forty of the finalists will be listed in the April 2006 issue of Christianity Today.
Nationally, the survey indicated those places that are considered among the best places to work experienced strong growth, low employee turnover, and high levels of trust between workers and management.
The 80-year-old Dallas Seminary is one of the largest non-denominational seminaries in the world, with more than 11,000 alumni serving in 95 countries. Internationally known for its scholarship and Bible exposition, DTS’ curriculum covers all 66 books of the Bible.
