Winter/Summer Residence Hall Check-In Procedure

Check-in Procedure

Step One:  Arrive on the scheduled move-in date and time.
The weekly reservations for the Summer Session/Winter Intercession begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday. Check-in times on Sunday will be strictly limited from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Please be aware that arrivals after 10:00 pm will not be allowed so please make travel arrangements accordingly to avoid having to find a place to stay off-campus the first night. There will also be a two-hour period of time on Saturday from 5:00 pm–7:00 pm that you will be allowed to check into your room if arriving before Sunday. These will be the only check-in times available on Saturday. Those who are unable to arrive until Monday will need to contact the On-Call RA either while on a break from class or after class and he will assist as he is able. Please note that during the week the On-Call RA may be in class or at work and unable to assist in a timely manner so, if possible, please make every attempt to arrive during the above check-in times.

Step Two:  Arrive at the proper residence hall.
It is important for the resident to arrive at the residence hall to which he/she has been assigned. Stearns Hall is located on-campus adjacent to Davidson Hall.

Step Three:  Contact the Residence Hall Staff.

  1. Go to Stearns Hall...
  2. Ring the doorbell.
  3. Proceed up the first flight of stairs, there is a lounge area to the right. If the On-Call RA is not in the lounge, follow the directions below to call him.
  4. Pick up the phone and dial 6075. When asked for a code, enter 2310 and then press the pound key. That will connect you with the On-Call RA’s cell phone.

Step Four:  Complete the necessary paperwork & receive your keys.
The Residence Hall Staff member will assist the resident in completing all necessary paperwork. Once all paperwork is completed, the resident will receive his keys and will be free to move in at any time. Residents with vehicles need to also go to the Campus Police Kiosk to register their vehicle. Tickets will be distributed to vehicles that do not have a valid decal!

LINENS

It will be necessary for each resident to provide his own linens including bed linens for a twin bed, a mattress pad, pillow, blankets, bath towels and any other appropriate linens.

IMPORTANT

Make sure to bring your student ID with you as this will serve as your dining card!
