The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible the student needs to answer one of the essay questions found at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm AES believes that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason a scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted. Amount of award: $500.00 Deadline for entry: October 6, 2009

Learn to reach those little ones up to 12 years old, who statistically have the greatest chance of coming to faith in Jesus. This spring, on four weekends in Houston, Dr. Jerry Lawrence will teach CE410, “A study of the nature and needs of children from birth through grade six, methods and materials for working with children, and administration of the children’s division of the church. Students participate in two teaching demonstrations to integrate classroom learning.” This elective is not always available. The weekend format makes it accessible to students from other extensions as well. Contact Jennie Bell for information about transportation and housing near the Houston Extension.

During the week that other classes are suspended for the World Evangelization Conference on the Dallas campus, Dr. Michael Lawson will teach CE215 Teaching in Christian Higher Education in Houston. This is a required course for the Academic Ministries track of the ThM and an elective for MACE and MABS. If you have any interest in teaching in a college, university, or seminary, you need this course. There are no prerequisites. Seriously consider taking it this spring, since it is not online and it may be three years before it is offered again in Houston. The class will meet from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, March 9-13. If you have other daytime classes in your spring schedule, you will have to contact the registrar's office 1-800-DTS-WORD x 3948 to add this course because the computer will perceive a conflict.

Do you need ST103? Then sign up for it this spring because we're going to offer it online. That's right, ST103 Angelology, Anthropology, and Hamartiology will be offered online. Dr. Nathan Holsteen will be the teacher of record. Don't delay because we're registering only 30 students for this spring semester.
