Letter from Dr. Bailey
Today it is my delight to bring you an update on the current status and growth of Dallas Seminary’s historic ministry,
training Chinese leaders primarily through our online Chinese-language seminary courses.
Our permission to teach God’s Word and train Chinese church leaders without restriction continues today— including the following seven seminary courses that will be taught online in Chinese this fall to the Chinese students from all over the world who enroll in our online program:
Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics; Hebrews, Genesis; Life of Christ on Earth; Spiritual Life; Introduction to Theology; History and Philosophy of Christian Education; and Introduction to World Missions.
These are the same courses that our students here in the States take, so there is no compromise in the quality or challenge of the courses we offer online. In addition, the Seminary is also continuing our face-to-face work in China as teams of two Dallas Seminary faculty members travel to China twice a year to teach believers and minister to the Church.
As I trust is obvious, Dallas Seminary is moving ahead on all fronts to maximize the “stewardship of opportunity” in China we have been given—one that would have been absolutely unthinkable even a few years ago.
Please pray for this outreach and for the Chinese students we are expecting to come to Dallas Seminary this fall. They and our other international students are another exciting expression of the Seminary’s commitment to train leaders for the Church worldwide!
This is the heart of my burden today as I update you on Dallas Seminary’s work in China. The costs of this outreach and our day-to-day ministry of training students from more than 50 countries who attend the Seminary are provided not through large endowments, but through the faithful financial giving of friends like you.
Thus I ask for your generous support today to help keep the work of Dallas Seminary going forward in strength. Your gift to the Seminary will be a great encouragement and vote of confidence as we seize this stewardship of opportunity in China and here on our campus!
Your servant for our risen Lord,
Mark L. Bailey, Ph.D.
